Discover how Chasing Paper x Pehr Forest Fable removable wallpaper can add whimsy to your nursery. Learn where it fits best and how to apply it.
Quick Answer
For a low-commitment way to bring a playful forest theme into your baby's room, choose Chasing Paper x Pehr Forest Fable removable wallpaper—it sticks to most smooth surfaces and peels off without damage.
Why Removable Wallpaper Works in a Nursery
Nursery decor often changes as your child grows, and permanent wallpaper can feel like a big commitment. Removable wallpaper gives you the freedom to update the room without the hassle of stripping paper or repainting. The Forest Fable design from the Pehr x Chasing Paper collaboration brings a whimsical woodland scene to walls, furniture, or even closet doors, making it easy to test a bold look before committing long-term.
Because it's designed to stick to nearly any smooth surface, you can use it in creative ways beyond a full wall—think a single accent panel, the inside of a bookshelf, or the back of a changing table. This flexibility is especially handy in rental homes or shared spaces where you want to personalize without permanent changes.
Trade-Offs to Consider Before You Buy
Removable wallpaper isn't ideal for every surface. Textured walls, fresh paint (less than a few weeks old), or surfaces with high humidity (like directly above a bathtub) may not hold as well. Also, while it's designed to remove cleanly, results can vary depending on the paint quality and how long it's been applied.
Another trade-off: the Forest Fable pattern is whimsical and detailed, which might feel busy if applied to an entire room. Many parents prefer to use it as an accent—behind a crib, on a feature wall, or on a single piece of furniture—to keep the room calm and balanced.
Decision Rules for Using Forest Fable Wallpaper
- Surface Check: Before ordering, test a small corner on the surface you plan to cover. Smooth, clean, and dry surfaces (like painted drywall, glass, or laminate) work best. Avoid textured walls or freshly painted surfaces (less than 2-3 weeks old). If the test piece doesn't stick firmly, choose a different surface or wait for the paint to cure.
- Pattern Placement: Decide whether you want a full wall or an accent. For a bold but balanced look, use Forest Fable on one feature wall or a large furniture piece, and keep the rest of the room neutral. Measure the area and order enough rolls, accounting for pattern repeat and trimming.
- Application & Removal: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application—usually, you peel and stick, smoothing out air bubbles with a squeegee. To remove, gently pull from a corner at a low angle; if it's been up for years, use a hairdryer to warm the adhesive for easier removal. Keep the original backing paper or take a photo of the batch number in case you need to match it later.
